What We Do

OQCC creates spaces where people can meet others in their field, share experiences, and stay connected through work.

Our activities include:

  • Networking events, panels, and workshops
  • Learning sessions focused on practical work and career topics
  • Regional activity through hubs in different parts of Ontario
  • Programming shaped by the needs of creatives, professionals, and business owners
...

Our Mission

Many queer people face barriers when trying to access professional networks and support.

OQCC exists to make that access more straightforward and more relevant, especially for people working outside major urban centres.

Our mission is to support 2SLGBTQIA+ economic participation across Ontario by bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and creating practical opportunities.

Our Values

We’re intentional about how we work. These values guide our decisions, including how we structure memberships and design events and partnerships.

01

Equity & Access

We offer subsidized and free memberships, including fully funded access for Newcomers and Indigenous youth. We focus on accessible events, clear information, virtual or hybrid options, and regional hubs so people across Ontario can take part.

02

Respect for Labour

We prioritize paid participation and fair compensation. We avoid unpaid exposure models and are clear about expectations, time, and compensation when people take part in our programming.

03

Community-Led

Our programs are shaped by participant feedback. We regularly adjust how we run events, workshops, and initiatives based on what people tell us works and what doesn’t.

04

Collaboration

We work with members, partners, and other organizations as speakers, hosts, facilitators, and collaborators. Topics and formats are often developed with those partners based on their experience and areas of work.
